Doctrinal Beliefs / Statement of Faith

What a person really believes in his heart will be reflected in his lifestyle and his actions!  Our Association of Colorado Baptist Churches gladly affirm the doctrinal statement of faith known as the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.  We believe that this statement of faith is a brief and concise statement of beliefs that reflect the major doctrines and teachings from God's Holy Word.  God's Word is without error.  As such it is our perfect and complete guide to our relationship with our triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  Also, it is our guide for relationships with our fellow men.  God has not asked us to defend His Word, only to accept it by faith, to follow its teaching and revelation of Him, to proclaim it as truth to all men and to teach it as fact.  This we endeavor to do faithfully with His power and blessing.  If you would like a complete copy of the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message (doctrinal statement) please call our office.

God's Eternal Gift of Salvation-

We affirm the Biblical teaching that Jesus Christ is the only and unique Son of God.  He is God and was with God the Father from the beginning of time.  He came to this earth over 2000 years ago as God incarnate (God in flesh).  He was born of the Holy Spirit and of a Jewish virgin named Mary (Read in the Bible Luke chapters 2 & 3).  He was 100% man and 100% God.  He lived on this earth for 33 + years as Jesus of Nazareth.  He lived a sinless life.  He came to earth to do the will of the Father and to die for the sins of men; the sinless Son of God came to be the atonement (blood sacrifice) for our sins.  He was crucified on a Roman cross.  He died and was burried in a tomb.  God raised Jesus from the tomb on the third day.  He was seen by scores of people over the next 40 days.  In the presence of His followers Jesus ascended into heaven.  He sits at the right hand of the heavenly Father.  As Christians, He is our advocate with the Father.  He gives His followers the very presence of His Spirit, which indwells the Believer.  He will return one day to claim His bride - the church!  Yes!  Jesus is coming again! Jesus lives!!!

All men are sinners and are in need of God's gift of Salvation (See in the Bible - Romans 3:10 and 3:23).  Salvation for man comes only through a verbal confession of one's sins and a belief that Jesus died and was raised on the third day (See Romans 10:9 & 10).  Salvation is the gift of God in response to the belief (faith) and confession of sinful man.  This is the New (spiritual) Birth (See John chapter 3).  There is no other way for man to attain God's salvation.  Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and no man can come to the Father except through Him.  This gift of God can be yours this very hour, if you truly believe in your heart and confess with your mouth your sins (See Romans 10:13).  A sinner calls on the name of the Lord through prayer.  Prayer is simply and sincerely talking to God.  The sinners prayer is simply telling God what He already knows about you, i.e. that you are a sinner, that you desire to repent of your sins (turn away from your sinful way of life) and that you want to be spiritually born again.   Tell God in your own words that you do believe in your heart that Jesus is the only Son of God, that He died for your sins and that on the third day God raised Him from the dead!

As a result of salvation through faith and God's gift of grace, two things happen in the life of a man.  He is given eternal life.  Eternal life begins the moment a man (or woman) places his/her faith in Jesus, asks and receives forgiveness for one's sins.  Eternal life has two characteristics: it is spiritual life that lasts forever (here on earth and after death in heaven with God).  Eternal life is also a quality of life, which Jesus calls the abundant life.  Abundant life is found as one begins to live the Christian life, as taught in the Bible, and as one begins to grow in this new spiritual relationship with God through Jesus.  Here a good Bible teaching church, like one of our Colorado Baptist churches found in the menu of our home page, can be a great help.  In a Bible teaching, preaching and living church a new Christian can form friendships with more mature Christians, who can be of help as one begins to walk this new pathway with Jesus.  The Christian life is not free from trials and difficulties.  Life does not suddenly become free of challenges simply because one places his/her faith in Jesus as Lord of life.  However, Jesus promises that He will never leave you.  He wants to be your friend and walk with you along the journey of life.  Christian friends can walk with you through your journey, too.  This is one benefit of being a part of a Bible teaching and loving church!

Call Kent at 970-241-7009,  if you would like to talk about the gift from God of grace in Jesus and to pray to receive Jesus as your Savior and Lord.  After such a prayer, I will give you some Bible helps (to help you begin your Christian walk) and I will give you a Bible, if you do not have one!  Friend, if God is tugging at your heart and convicting you of your sin, turn to Him in repentance of sin and in faith in the Person of His Son Jesus!  You will find peace in your heart and life, if you make that decision now.  Peace with God is only available through Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God!  If you make this decision, now, call me at the above number and tell me about your decision!  I want to rejoice with you in the most important decision in your life!

Here Is God's Purpose for ALL Men and Women -

"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for Himself a people for His own posession who are zealous for good works."
Titus 2:11-14 (ESV)
